Here's another of my Road To California Show favorites. Most every quilter has had the challenge of what to do when you don't have enough of a given fabric. The owner of this quilt was beside herself as the center top was made years ago by a family member. After searching for a matching pale yellow fabric to finish the border, she gave up and figured she had to do something completely different. Lucky decision as the red border added made this quilt shout out "LOOK AT ME." It's a gorgeous quilt that I think is superior with this border addition.

I totally agree! I think that most of the time our end product is much better when we are forced to come up with another solution. Running out of fabric is a good thing!
